BILLERICA — The Billerica Police Department, as a result of a traffic stop and subsequent search of a vehicle, arrested and charged a 24-year-old Methuen man with trafficking both cocaine and fentanyl.

JORGE VILLAR BAEZ, age 24, of METHUEN, was arrested and charged with:

  • Trafficking Fentanyl (Over 200 Grams)
  • Trafficking Cocaine (36 to 100 Grams)
  • Marked Lanes Violation

On Wednesday, May 20, at approximately 9:21 a.m., Detective Christopher DeVito was patrolling in an unmarked cruiser when he observed what he believed to be a drug transaction in the area of Briarwood Avenue.

Detective DeVito followed a Toyota Rav4 that appeared to be involved, and stopped the vehicle on Bridle Road after observing a driving infraction.

The driver was identified as VILLAR BAEZ. A subsequent search of the vehicle located a hidden compartment in a speaker in the back. Inside that compartment police found numerous individually packaged baggies containing over 212 grams of fentanyl and over 48 grams of cocaine. Police also located $172.

VILLAR BAEZ was taken into custody and arraigned Wednesday in Lowell District Court.

These are allegations. All defendants are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
