The Billerica Police Traffic Division augments our Patrol Division by providing dedicated traffic management patrols. The Division is overseen by Traffic Safety Officer Sgt. Timothy McKenna and is manned by up to four additional police officers
In addition to providing regular traffic enforcement, the division is also actively engaged in addressing problem traffic areas in Billerica. This includes looking for solutions for dangerous conditions and improving traffic flow. Problem areas in town should be directed to the traffic division unless the problem constitutes an immediate risk to public safety which should be directed immediately to dispatch.
Serious motor vehicle accident investigations are handled by the traffic division as well as additional services such as child seat installation and community safety programs.
